Hold the smartphone over the barcode and tap the screen with your finger. A green bar moving from top to bottom indicates the active scanning process. The following results of your analysis are possible:
Green tick: Analysis of the ingredients reveals no insect ingredients.
Vermin symbol on a red background: Warning, this product contains insect ingredients. It also indicates which specific ingredient is contained in the food.
Red question mark in an orange field: In this case, please hold your smartphone over the list of ingredients and press the
Camera symbol. Make sure that the list of ingredients is correctly captured by your camera. A photo with the complete ingredients in your language works best. Where the text is very small and difficult to read, it is easy to inadvertently position the camera half over the German text and half over the foreign-language text. It may then take several attempts until the contiguous text field is 100% captured and the clear analysis result (green or red) appears. Please don't give up too quickly with orange, the app will give you a clear result in the vast majority of cases.
Important: Even if the ingredients in the text field are displayed with changed letters or with gaps, the result of the analysis is correct.
